World Book Day 2024

Once upon a time, Little Red Riding Hood, Goldilocks and the Three Little Pigs all went to school.

Or at least that's the story that seemed to be unfolding at Elmhurst on World Book Day, as teachers and pupils came together to celebrate a fairy tale theme.

Fairy tales are so important in helping children learn moral messages and how to interpret the world around them, so they provided a rich source of stories for pupils to unpick and enjoy.

On World Book Day, classes from EYFS all the way up to Year Six learned about traditional tales, as well as creating their own versions through drama, writing and art.

The excitement can continue as the school invested in lots of new high-quality fairy tale texts that are now available in the school library.
