Celebrating NSPCC Number Day!

At the start of February, Elmhurst Primary celebrated Number Day, a day created by the NSPCC— a charity that works tirelessly to keep children safe and help them live happy lives.

On the day, children took part in 'dress up for digits' and we saw some amazing costumes from all ages! This was not a surprise as creativity is one of our 5Cs (values which help our school community be the best it can be!).

Instead of normal maths lessons, the children enjoyed fun activities such as solving mysteries and mathematical colour-by-numbers. Finally, there was a Times Table Rockstars competition— NSPCC Rocks— where children had to score as many points as possible using their times tables facts. Great to see children challenging themselves to do their best.

The winners for highest scoring class were 6S in 1st place, 4WS in 2nd and 5O in 3rd. For highest scoring individual children, the winner was Dev in 6S, followed by Karanveer in 5O and then Avaneesh in 6SF. Well done to everyone who played and to the winners for their hard work.

We are already looking forward to celebrating Number Day next year!
