As part of our art unit on skylines, the Year 5 students had a wonderful opportunity to visit the renowned ArcelorMittal Orbit in Stratford.
Overlooking the city from a height of over 100m, we honed our sketching skills to capture iconic landmarks like the Gherkin, Big Ben, Canary Wharf, and The Shard. Now, equipped with these sketches, we are eager to return to the classroom and develop them into vibrant paintings, drawing inspiration from the fauvist artist André Derain's distinctive style.
