On Thursday 22nd September, thirty lucky year 6 children got the chance to visit the O2 arena to watch some of the world’s best tennis stars in action. This was the practice day for the Laver cup, an annual tournament which changes location each year, where a World team compete against a European team. Amazingly, it happened to be Roger Federer’s final tournament before retiring. Not only did we see the Swiss legend in action but we got to watch him play doubles alongside Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray. It was incredible to see four legends of the of the game on court at the same time. There was a little bonus for Aisha from 6F who managed to take home a stray tennis ball as a souvenir from the day.
