Fair Play House Residential 2024

On Monday 16th September, 71 pupils set off for the Year 6 residential, in the Essex countryside at Fair Play House. The week-long stay aimed to develop a number of traits in the children including confidence, independence and thinking of others as well as themselves. The teachers all noticed that over the course of the week the children did become much more independent and this should be something which is encouraged at home. Each day there were a variety of activities; some tested the children’s fears, such as high-ropes and caving, whilst others focused on specific skills such as orienteering and archery. Not only this, but the children were tasked with setting up for and clearing away after meals, keeping dorm rooms tidy and sleeping when expected. The children took real pride in keeping their rooms tidy, so this again is something they can certainly do at home. The trip also involved a wonderful trip to the seaside, as you can see in the photos below. It was a real pleasure to take the children away and hopefully this has set them up for a great academic year. A big thank you to the team at Fair Play House for making the stay hugely memorable.
