Juniper's head training chef, Rachel Hamilton, brought in a variety of fruit and vegetables used on the current lunch salad bar and delivered high quality workshops in reception and year 1 on 15th January. She gave brief examples of the nutrients and health benefits and allowed plenty of time to sample the salads. Brahim, our school chef, prepared the same salad selection that the children are offered during lunch times for parents and younger children in reception and KS1. Parents were so impressed with the food that they were asking Brahim for his recipes. There will be further work in school to promote healthy eating and to encourage more children to taste the wonderful food and extensive salad bar which is on offer every day as part of our school lunches.
