Overview

We are committed to ensuring that all pupils receive the best possible education under the current circumstances.

Teachers are setting work for pupils to complete each day. This will include some online work as well as projects and work to do offline. It is expected that all pupils will complete approximately four hours worth of school work each day, including reading for enjoyment and other offline activities.

EYFS

For pupils in EYFS, work will be set on Parent Mail, and a form will be sent out to parents to gather information about what children have done during the week. We also recommend that all pupils take part in physical activity every day. Please see the resources page for ideas.

Suggested Daily Timetable for Reception Pupils

It is important, during the period of school closure, to ensure that children have routine and structure. With this in mind, we suggest that families follow the below timetable where possible.

Work is set using Google Classroom and is set each day by around 10am. Teachers will check in periodically that pupils have completed the work on Google Classroom but will not remain online for the whole day.  Pupils should expect one literacy, one maths and one afternoon subject activity for each day. Teachers and school leaders will be checking that pupils are accessing the work and will follow up with a phonecall if pupils are not accessing the work for any reason.

Learning Expectations in Maths and Liiteracy

In order to reduce the gaps that pupils will have in their knowledge and understanding during this period of school closure, we are now beginning to include new content and not just revision of previous learning. Our teachers are busy planning and resourcing short bite sized tutorials to explain a concept, which are as self-explanatory as possible. Once we have established this for English and Maths then we will be looking at doing this in the Foundations subjects and science.
