Helping the homeless in East London

In the Autumn and Spring term 2018-19, Elmhurst Primary School did a big fundraiser to help the homeless and refugee families in East London. We collected clothes, food and raised money at the Xmas fayre, Xmas jumper day as well as on Red Nose Day.

The school raised over £1,173 and donated it along with hygiene items to Providence Row a homeless charity in East London. We gave clothes donations to the local refugee charity the Renewal Project. Two children really stood out for their care and consideration towards the homeless and refugees, as they used their pocket money to buy items for the homeless and motivated their families to make donations. One child was from Nursery and the other from Year 3. The school is very proud of them both and all the children who helped.
