Headteacher recieves MBE honorary award

We are delighted to inform our school community that our Headteacher, Sukwinder Samra, was recently awarded an MBE in the Queen's new Year Honours List. Ms Samra was recognised for her exceptional services to education.  Ms Samra has worked tirelessly throughout her career in teaching, as a teacher and leader, to transform the opportunities available to children. Her work has not only touched the lives of the children of Elmhurst but also those in Newham and also further afield through her work leading the maths hub, as an OFSTED inspector and directing our teaching school.  She believes in the potential of every child to achieve and succeed and has been instrumental in making sure the children of Elmhurst and beyond can be everything they can be.  We are all extremely proud of Ms Samra and all she has done for the school community and feel pleased that she has this recognition for all her hard work.

Additionally, Ms Samra was on recently interviewed regarding the award on BBC Asian network alongside two other winners. Please follow the link below (The interview begins at 1:47)
