Family Support

Free School Meals

Firstly, if you are no longer working as a family, then please apply for FREE SCHOOL MEALS. During this school closure, the children who are eligible for free school meals can benefit from a national voucher scheme whilst they stay at home. Schools can now provide every eligible child with a weekly shopping voucher worth £15 to spend at supermarkets while schools are closed. Please contact Yasmin Begum, our office manager, at ybegum16.316@lgflmail.org if you would like to apply for free school meals.

Free School Meal Vouchers

If your employment circumstances have changed due to Coronavirus, you may now be eligible for Free School Meals. Apply here.

The government has provided support for every eligible child to receive a voucher worth £15 per week to spend at supermarkets while schools are closed.

If you are urgently in need of support, please contact the school and we will do our best to help you.

The government has provided support for every eligible child to receive a voucher worth £15 per week to spend at supermarkets while schools are closed.

If you have no recourse to public funding, please apply to Free School Meals as you still may be entitled.

The application process:
  • Please use the link provided above to see if you are entitled to Free School Meals. Only one application is required for all siblings.
  • Once you have completed the application, please note the FSM reference number for your own personal records.

  • The borough will decide if you meet the criteria and will contact the school on a weekly basis, directly with a list of children who are eligible. You will also be notified via email if you are eligible or not for the FSM scheme.
  • The school will then update the MIS system and forward your child’s eligibility status to Edenred who will contact you to set up your account in order to receive vouchers.
There is a delay with the government voucher scheme called Edenred. Parents who were receiving vouchers with the revious Wande system have been submitted to the government scheme for approval. Parents who have made a new application from 30th March 2020 and are eligible for free school vouchers will experience a delay in receiving the Edenred vouchers. This is due to system issues with the government scheme. We cannot confirm how long the delay will be.

Please note, vouchers will not be backdated and will only begin from when your child has been accepted as being eligible for Free School Meals and has been added to the governments voucher scheme.

If you would like to seek confidential advise in regards to your circumstances, a member of the senior leadership team will be available to speak to Monday to Friday from 9:00am - 12:00pm.
