At Elmhurst we provide tuition for a number of pupils in Years 3, 4, 5, and 6 in Literacy and Maths. This is free of charge to parents, and paid for entirely by Elmhurst Primary School.

Children gain confidence and make progress in their learning due to receiving tuition with tutors who are all either qualified teachers, or have an excellent academic record with prior experience of tutoring. Tutors provide engaging, targeted activities for the children which are based on both their targets and their interests.

Tuition sessions take place after school or on Saturday mornings at school.

National Tutoring Programme

The National Tutoring Programme (NTP) is a government initiative and it aims to support schools in providing a sustained response to the coronavirus pandemic and to provide a longer-term contribution to closing the attainment gap. The idea is to make high-quality tutoring available to schools to help disadvantaged pupils whose education has been affected by school closures. We are working closely with approved tuition partners to allocate tuition for our pupils. We will contact you when we have more information on this.

Notices for Tutees

Please ensure that you arrive on time for your tuition with your homework and a healthy snack.

If your tuition takes place on a Saturday morning, please ensure you arrive no more than 5 minutes before your tuition starts and leave as soon as it has finished.

Notices for Tutors

Saturday tutors – don’t forget to call home to remind the children about their tuition sessions, to avoid absences.

Remember to hand your evaluations forms to Ms Islam promptly.

If you have an excellent academic record, enjoy working with children and are interested in joining our tuition team, then please contact the school directly.
